Parent networks

Parent networks

Parent Networks are organizations of parents who have agreed to work together to prevent alcohol/drug and other problems in their children, usually forming at each school. This is accomplished by setting reasonable limits, communicating with other parents, educating themselves on parent issues and providing positive alternative activities for kids.

What the Drug Alliance does to support Parent Networks’ efforts:

  • Encourages and supports communication among parents.
  • Helps parents feel support for doing their job as parents.
  • Opposes the acceptance of the use of alcohol or other drugs as a normal parent of growing up.
  • Encourages participation in educational programs for parents.
  • Develops alcohol and drug free activities for our young people
  • Strengthens the belief that parents have a crucial role in prevention.
